U10 A vs EHS
Hallfield 2 – EHS 5
U10 B vs EHS
It was a tough first game for the U10B team vs EHS on Monday. We lost the toss so EHS took the first centre pass. It took us a little while to figure out our positioning and marking and EHS ended the first quarter 2-0 to them. The girls came back out and battled again in the second quarter but EHS scored another 2 goals with the help of an excellent GA. With lots of tips, talking through tactics and some swapping of positions, Hallfield continued to battle in the third quarter, this time only allowing EHS 1 goal and making progress down the court ourselves. In the final quarter we began to find our stride. Although we did not manage to score, we also prevented EHS from getting any more goals. Maryam was awarded Girl of the Game for her excellent defensive play. Well done girls for not letting your heads drop and only improving as the match went on.

U11A vs Solihull A 1.2.22
It was an intense game against Solihull A on Wednesday for the U11 A Team. We lost the toss so Solihull took the first centre pass. The speed of passing was rapid, both teams making the other work for the ball. The first quarter ended 1-0 to Solihull. Solihull began to find their stride in the second quarter with some excellent shots from towards the edge of the D from their Goal Attack. We had a few shots on goal too but unfortunately they did not go in. We battled hard in the third quarter, keeping marking tight. Although we were behind, the girls kept their heads up in the final quarter and made Solihull work for the ball. Despite our best efforts and a few chances at scoring, the final score was 7-0 to Solihull. The girls managed some great interceptions and I was proud of their determination. Isha and Anisa were awarded joint Girl of the Game. A learning curve for us which we will take forward into training and improve; good effort girls!

U11A & B Rugby vs Solihull
Sometimes the opposition are just a lot better than us, and this was the case for the U11As against Solihull. Our opposition looked bigger and stronger than us, and all of them had been playing a lot of contact rugby at their local club. For us, this was our first contact rugby match for a long time. Despite this the boys tried incredibly hard and kept running and using their agility to try to get around the Solihull defence. It was a steep learning curve and a good test of our character. Well-tried boys – a wonderful effort.
The U11B team match was more evenly contested although we lost 7 – 4. As the game wore on, we started to get to grips with what we had to do and ended up playing some fine rugby. Well done to the whole team, who all progressed significantly throughout the afternoon.
U10A & B Rugby vs Solihull
The 10A team were ably led by Noah by organising the boys into position and tackling anything that moved. All the boys ran well with the ball in their hands, particularly Ashrith who slipped through the Solihull defence on a number of occasions. Overall Solihull had a bit more experience in playing contact and we ended up losing, but we learnt so much from the experience.
Hallfield 5 – Solihull 15
The U10Bs had a good game against Solihull B team. After Edward Bryan ran through their team to score the first try, Solihull improved and both sides scored many tries. Each player ran well with the ball, but we need to organise our defensive line better and ensure that we tackle with our shoulders. Overall, it was a great effort as for all the boys this was their first match of contact rugby, well done!

U8A & B Rugby vs Solihull
The U8As experienced a comprehensive victory, 14-7, against Solihull. It was their first Tag rugby match of the year but it did not look like it. Everyone played with such good team spirit and each player ran well with the ball. It was a particularly great match for Anay who scored a magnificent seven tries!
Hallfield 14 – Solihull 7
The Bs also won,13-6, and every member of the team scored! The spirit was so good that the team were trying to get Reuben Gagan to score towards the end so that this was possible! Lovely team spirit. Ibraheem scored 4 tries, Rayyan scored 1, Pavan scored 2, Arjan 2, Henry 1, Sami 1, Yusef 1 and Reuben 1. Well done!
Hallfield 13 – Solihull 6

The U9As were victorious against Solihull on a glorious afternoon. Everyone played well but a particular well done to Ethan, Darrone, Hari and Jai for their elusive running.
