Hallfield incentivises pupils to go more green
From Monday 24 January we will be holding a weekly eco-challenge! Use an eco mode of transport (walk/cycle/bus service) to relieve the Hallfield Car Park 3/5 days a week and on the following Monday names will be entered into a hat to win a £10 Amazon Voucher – plus a hot chocolate/cookie Monday playtime outside! Good luck everyone.

Pupils travel to Hallfield School from all over Birmingham and surrounding parts of the West Midlands. To help with the morning commute we currently offer two bus services to transport pupils to school; the new and improved Moseley bus service and the walking bus.
We are encouraging as many children as possible to use our bus service to help the environment, help ease congestion on the car park in the mornings, as well as providing a service to our parents.
Moseley Bus Service
This service is available for Year 1 children upwards. If you would like to try the school bus service, we are offering every child a free week’s travel, ‘try-before-you-buy’, to enable you to test if this is a viable option for the morning commute. Following this trial, costs are £3 from The Covered Wagon and £2 from Oakland Road and the Moseley Village Car Park.
7.40am The Covered Wagon Pub Car Park, Yardley Wood Road B13 9JW
7.45am Oakland Road (pick up opposite St Martin de Porres Catholic Primary School B13 9DN)
7.50am Moseley Village Car Park, Alcester Road B13 8HJ
Walking Bus
The Walking Bus will leave from the public car park next to The Physician Pub and The High Field, on Highfield Road. Two members of staff (or more depending on pupil numbers) will escort the children to school. Children will be provided with a hi-viz vest.
This service removes the need to enter the car park and queue to get in/out, which will speed up your morning commute and reduce pollution.
Parents will need to drop children off between 8.00 and 8.10am. Please DO NOT leave your child in the car park before a member of Hallfield staff has arrived. Likewise if you arrive late and the Walking Bus has set off.
Staff on duty will take a register of the children taking the Walking Bus before setting off. It will set off promptly at 8.15am. If you cannot see a member of staff DO NOT LEAVE YOUR CHILD.
The Walking Bus is available for children from Reception upwards.
