Parents’ Social Association

Parents from across Hallfield School – whether their children attend Hallfieldfirst, Pre-Prep or Prep School – are members of the Hallfield Parents’ Social Association (PSA). The PSA is primarily a social body which organises a number of events each year, bringing all aspects of the School community together – pupils, parents and staff. The PSA is organised by a small committee (ten parents and five staff) who are elected to join for three years at the Annual General Meeting, which is held every October.

Where possible, the committee is representative of all year groups in the School, and similarly those members of the PSA taken from School staff also represent the different sections of the School. The PSA’s membership always includes one member of the Senior Leadership Team as well as the Head Master. Should a parent not wish to join the committee (which holds approximately two meetings per term), they may wish to become ‘friends’ of the PSA, in which capacity they will be invited to help at one or more of the PSA events throughout the year.

The committee produces a programme of events each year. Most events are family orientated, although some are specifically for children or adults (for example, our annual Ball is adults only). Monies raised throughout the year are donated towards specific projects identified by the School. In recent years funding has been granted towards the sound and lighting system in the Prep School Hall, and additional play equipment for Hallfieldfirst, Pre-Prep and Prep School children. The projects are intended to benefit as many children as possible and to enhance facilities which would not ordinarily be provided by the School. There is an annual PSA subscription charge of £10 per family, which is added to the Autumn Term invoice. Should a parent ‘opt out’ of paying this fee, they will not be able to join the PSA committee.
