This week Hallfield School played matches against both Repton Prep and West House. Pupils had a great time and are looking forward to the upcoming fixtures this term.

U11A Boys’ hockey v Repton Prep

Hallfield 2 Repton 3

A very balanced first ever match for the team, where the boys played with commitment and spirit. It was Repton who scored first, their team structure, borne of greater experience, proving telling for much of the match. However, Hallfield didn’t panic and within 5 minutes had managed to level the score before stretching to a 2-1 lead. The boys’ tails were up and throughout the first half they proved to have the greater desire to get to the ball first and compete.

In the second half Repton increased their commitment levels, and their ability to move the ball around while holding the team’s shape proved effective. In the end they squeezed the result, Hallfield having a narrow 2-3 loss. The boys showed much promise, however, and can be proud of their performance.

U11B Boys hockey v  Repton Prep

Hallfield 1 Repton 0

The match was played with great competitive spirit from both teams. Hallfield were very effective at tackling, challenging for the ball in the attacking half to regain possession. An early Hallfield goal came from a number of passes inside the shooting circle.

Repton Prep battled hard playing lots of strong forward passes however Hallfield managed the game well by good defending to keep their 1 goal lead.

Some penalty shots were taken to finish off, allowing all the players to enjoy what was a successful game played by all.

Boys’ and Girls’ Football:

It was great to see the U11s putting out 2 hockey teams and 3 football teams on the same afternoon. It was also good to see the girls joining the boys to play together against West House. Well done girls you all played very well. Each of the 3 matches were close with the E team game a real nail biter until the end.

U11 C v West House     Lost    0 – 2

U11 D v West House     Lost    1 – 3

U11 E v West House     Drew   0 – 0
