U10A vs Solihull, 3-3 Draw

It was an exciting game for the U10 A team against Solihull on Monday. Despite Solihull taking the first centre pass, our girls started off strong. We quickly overturned possession and worked beautifully as a team to get the ball down to our shooters. By the end of the first quarter we were 2-0 up. The second quarter was end to end with neither team managing to score and in the third quarter, Solihull managed get pull one back. Going into the final quarter the score was 2-1. Solihull came out fiercely and managed to score twice more, putting them 3-2 ahead. We fought back and did not let our heads drop. In the final few seconds of the game our shooters managed to put one more goal in the net, making the final score a 3-3 draw. Yueqi was voted as the girl of the game for her fabulous interceptions in defence but it was a great team effort from all the girls. Well done!

U10 B VS Solihull

The U10 B team played Solihull on a cold afternoon. The team worked hard throughout the game but came up against a strong team and found scoring opportunities limited. In the first quarter Solihull raced into a 3-0 lead but strong defence in the second and third quarters limited Solihull to shooting from distance and this helped to keep the score down. Some good play out of defence and flowing movement down the court gave the shooters some opportunities to score but unfortunately, we were unable to put the ball in the net. A more improved performance in the second part of the match, well done girls for the great determination and team work you showed.
Final score 8-0 to Solihull.

U9s vs Norfolk House

In contrast to the cold U10s match the day before, the U9s played in beautiful sunshine on Tuesday. We mixed up our teams and played a couple of games of netball each. The girls showed good teamwork and our ball confidence continues to improve. It was wonderful to allow the girls to choose their own positions for the games and we made sure they were not the same thing twice. Well played girls.

U11C vs Crackley Hall, 4-2 Win

The U11Cs had a great match in the sunshine on Wednesday. We started in possession and kept it well in the first quarter. There were many interceptions from our defensive team of Sofia and Amelia, with great support in centre court from Dhiya and Siyona. Despite dominating the play in the first quarter, we did not manage to score leaving it 0-0. The second quarter saw both teams come out fighting. Hallfield started strongly, and Zahra scored our first, followed by Hayat with the second. Crackley Hall broke through our defences and scored their first making it 2-1. The third quarter saw a hard battle. Emma worked tirelessly as GA and had a few near misses at goal. Crackley Hall scored one more, drawing the score level at 2-2 going into the final quarter. In the final quarter our girls came out determined. There was fantastic link up play from the whole team who managed to get the ball to our shooters. With Lamiya as GS, she managed to get the ball in the net twice more resulting in a 4-2 win for Hallfield. Hayat was voted as player of the game for her excellent runs on court. We were really proud of all the girls with their excellent play – well done!

U8s Netball Festival with Norfolk House

The U8s all participated in a friendly netball festival with Norfolk House on Thursday. The girls were split into 4 teams and played 5 matches each against each other and 2 Norfolk House sides. Although the games were quite short to get through everyone and difficult to get many goals in the 5 minutes, there was excellent movement, passing and defending all round. It was some of the girls’ first match in netball and great to get the experience. We definitely saw confidence grow and lots to keep working on in training. Well done girls for trying so hard!

Red Team vs Crackley Hall

The Red team had a superb match against Crackley Hall on Wednesday. After Crackley Hall won the toss we were starting on the defence. Making some impressive interceptions and sticking to their defenders like glue, our defensive team consisting of Emily, Levizah and Avni put in a great effort to prevent multiple goals from being scored. The ball was end to end with both teams getting numerous interceptions and by half time it was equal thanks to our shooting duo, Sahiba and Zia. The last two quarters were just as intense and with no fatigue showing, the centre-court players Humaira, Ellen and Mary were putting on the pressure and preventing any last-minute opposing goals!

The final score ended with a respectable draw 4-4, congratulations to Zia who was voted girl of the game.
