U11C vs Solihull, 99-77 Win
It was a sunny afternoon for the U11C girls’ final cricket match all together. We won the toss and decided to field first. There was strong bowling and fielding from our girls, not allowing Solihull to score many runs. Despite her nerves going in, Yiran’s bowling was much improved, and she gave away very little during her over. We took 3 wickets in total through a bowled by Emma, and 2 run outs after quick thinking and throwing in the field from Siyona and Sofia respectively.
It was then our turn to bat. We needed 48 runs to win without losing wickets. Our girls played well, hitting the slower balls to make runs and defending where needed. Solihull matched our 3 wickets; however, we scored many more boundaries. Zahra put in a good performance using a sweep to the left effectively, Amelia and Siyona scored 2 4s each, Emily and Sofia scored a 4 a piece, and Mary put in a very strong performance, hitting 3 of her 6 balls for 4. After all of this, Hallfield scored a total of 84 runs, plus the 15 bonus runs for taking 3 wickets during our fielding which meant our girls were victorious with a 99-77 win. Emily was voted as bowler of the game and Mary was batter of the game. A wonderful high to finish on and lots of confidence as the girls progress to secondary school. Well done!
U9 Red Team Vs Eversfield
The U9 Red team went to Eversfield we won the toss and elected to field first. The girls got off to a good start with some accurate bowling and good backing up in the field. The accuracy of bowling and quick thinking in the field resulted in 7 wickets being taken – Jaiya, Mia , Mahi, Halima and two catches from Hannah and Mia. The opposition took every opportunity to run and posted a target of 51 to beat.
The girls started their batting innings strongly with Aditi hitting two 4s off her over. Jaiya batted strongly along with Mia and then Mahi scored a boundary too. Maidah, Anchal, Armaya and Sumayyah did well towards the end of the match to score additional runs and defend. the wicket well. A super game from all of the team resulting in a 91-66 win. Aditi was batter of the game and Hannah bowler.
U11 Girls Cricket vs Solihull
Won the toss and elected to bowl first.
The game got off to a good start with tight bowling from Zia and Humaira giving away only 10 runs in the first two overs and also Humaira taking a wicket. Mark and Olivia continued with some good bowling securing a catch and a stumping within their two overs and limiting Solihull to 7 runs. The match progress well with some super, quick fielding, direct hits at the stumps and great backing up. Lucilla, Anshi, Kathryn, Mani and Parvaan all took wickets during their bowling spells. Solihull finished on 199. The upper order of batting weathered the storm of the first bowlers and added a few runs to the score. However, when Hana and Lucilla came in to bat they moved the score on significantly – Hana scoring a boundary and Lucilla a 6! Kathryn backed up this great batting with a boundary and a 6 and during the last over Parvaan also found the boundary. A great team performance for their final match saw the A team win 250-199. Well done to all!
U9 Green Team vs Eversfield
On Tuesday the U9 girls travelled to Eversfield for their final cricket match of the season. Hallfield won the toss and opted to field first. Some great bowling and fielding made it hard for Eversfield to score runs. Well done to Isabella for making a brilliant catch and Zoya for getting two consecutive wicket! After a quick swap over it was time for Hallfield to bat. We managed to score lots of runs and prevented Eversfield from making any wickets! The final result was 68-62 to Hallfield. Well done to Amelie who was voted batter of the game and Zoya who was voted bowler of the game.
U11 B Team vs Solihull
On Wednesday the U11 girls played their last match of the season, and many their last match for Hallfield. The girls started off strong with their batting, social multiple 4’s and getting really close to scoring a 6! The girls made some great runs and pushed for that extra run every ball, trying to gain every advantage they could. After a quick swap over and team talk, the girls were back out again this time fielding. We played a strong game, scoring 4 wickets. It was a tough half however the girls were determined and remained positive. The final score was 86-101 Solihull, however the girls played brilliantly.
