House Music Finalists 2025 Announced

Pupils from Hallfield Prep and Seniors competed for one of 30 spots in the House Music Semi-Finals. This week, the selected semi-finalists—six from each category (strings, woodwind, brass, vocal, guitar & drums, and piano)—took the stage as soloists in a series of Semi-Final Concerts. Their performances showcased the remarkable talent of Hallfield pupils, making for an exciting and highly competitive event.

Each performance was met with enthusiastic applause, and our panel of visiting music teachers faced the tough challenge of selecting just two finalists from each category. The judging criteria included musicality, interpretation, stage presence, and the ability to convey emotion through music. Well done to everyone who took part!

The semi-finals of the Prep School House Music Competition were an exciting and highly anticipated event, showcasing the immense talent and dedication of students across all participating houses. Held in the school’s music department, the atmosphere was charged with energy every lunchtime this week, as the air buzzed with anticipation for the performances to come. It was wonderful to see so much support from children’s friends and their form teachers as well.

I am so proud of the incredible talent that exists within the school, and these semi-finals demonstrated that we are fostering a sense of community, friendly competition, and a shared love for music. All eyes (and ears!) turn now to the final round, where the best of the best will go head-to-head for the ultimate prize – being House Music champions!
