U9 Green Team vs Eversfield, 23/06/25, 89-58 Win

It was a beautiful Tuesday afternoon for our U9s cricket fixture against Eversfield. Hallfield lost the toss, and Eversfield elected to field first. Batting conditions proved challenging, with our players facing a flurry of no balls and wides. Despite this, our batters stayed focused and capitalised well on the good deliveries. Isabella and Amelia got us off to a solid start, playing sensibly and protecting their wickets. Their calm approach set the tone for the innings. Daniel and Callum followed with excellent communication and teamwork, building a strong partnership. Daniel stood out with his attacking play, striking four impressive boundaries. Amelie showed great confidence with her calling and made some brave decisions at the crease, while Tanmay displayed great footwork and timing, playing several well-placed shots. Although we lost a couple of wickets through a run-out and a clean bowl, Hallfield ended the innings with a respectable total of 69 runs.

In the field, Hallfield demonstrated outstanding teamwork and energy. Our players supported each other brilliantly, covering their positions well, communicating effectively, and delivering accurate throws. Alaura was particularly impressive with her fielding, always alert and consistently backing up throws, preventing numerous potential boundaries. Tanvi and Anika both delivered excellent overs, bowling with precision and discipline. Neither gave away any runs through no balls or wides, putting Eversfield under pressure and halting their scoring. The standout performance of the day came from Ishaan, who had a phenomenal bowling spell. He claimed four wickets in total, including a remarkable hat-trick in a single over, and also added a run-out to his name. Thanks to the team’s tight bowling and sharp fielding, Eversfield finished on 58 runs. With 4 wickets taken into account, Hallfield’s final score stood at 89 runs. Ishaan was deservedly named Player of the Match for his exceptional bowling performance, while Alaura was recognised as Player of the Match for her contribution during her time in bat.

Well done to all the players for their teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship. Excellent effort, Hallfield!

U9 Green Team vs Eversfield

It was an exciting and close game for the Year 4 B team on Tuesday. They won 247-245 after showing both strong batting and fielding. The boys worked well as a team and gave each other encouragement and good communication throughout. We started as the batting team and with some excellent striking action, the B team were able to get balls to the boundary seven times; with Peveer and Adam hitting two 6s! The team brought this momentum into the fielding, impressing us with each of their bowls and preventing any ball reaching the boundary. Adesh and Niccolo kept the team in the game by catching the ball from two of the batsmen, reducing Wolverhampton Grammar’s total runs. Overall, it was a fun and respectful game with both teams seemingly enjoying the cricket: it was a lovely fixture.

U9 Girls Cricket Match Report vs Wolverhampton Grammar

On a bright but blustery Tuesday afternoon, the U9 girls took to the field for their final cricket fixture of the academic year, facing a strong Wolverhampton Grammar side. Spirits were high as we won the toss and opted to field first. Amaya made an immediate impact, taking a fine catch and delivering a superb over of bowling that kept the pressure firmly on the opposition. Her performance earned her the title of bowler of the game. Haniya followed with some fiery fast bowling, making it difficult for Wolverhampton to score freely. Behind the stumps, Amber was a wall, letting nothing past her as wicketkeeper, and also contributed with a particularly accurate over of bowling.

When it was our turn to bat, Amaya continued to shine, hitting numerous boundaries with confident strokes all around the pitch. Amal and Hannah demonstrated excellent communication between the wickets, making sensible decisions and securing safe runs. Anna and Vithi showed growing confidence at the crease, playing assertive shots and cleverly sneaking a few extra runs with bold running. Millie closed the game with a flourish, sending the final ball to the boundary for an unstoppable four, securing her the title of batter of the game.
In a closely fought contest, Wolverhampton Grammar edged a narrow victory by just four runs. Despite the result, the match showcased the tremendous progress the girls have made this season. Well played, team – you did yourselves proud!

U10 Red team v Eversfield

Hallfield won the toss and put Eversfield into bat. Good, accurate bowling from Aditi and Tabetha limited Eversfield opportunity to score and got Hallfield off to a good start. The consistency of the bowling continued throughout the innings and some good fielding with great backing up particularly from Jaiya and Jeevan allowed Eversfield to score steading through the innings.  Three wickets – two from Sumayyah and one from Aditi set Hallfield up well for their batting innings. The team supported each other well with Jaiya, Aditi, Jeevan and Halima all scoring boundaries, with singles being taken by Alex, Maidah and Tabetha to help increase the score. Eversfield managed to take a couple of wickets to set up a close finish however, the final score 101 – 94 saw Hallfield run out winners. A great game well done to all! Jeevan Batter of the game and Jaiya was bowler of the game.

U9 A Boys Cricket v Wolverhampton Grammar

The boys won the toss and elected to bowl first. Good consistent bowling from all of the boys in the team with good line and length achieved and some great pace at times too. This bowling restricted Wolverhampton’s opportunity to score lots of runs but at the top of the order there were some good boundaries and even a six. Despite this the boys supported each other well, they played to their strengths with good fielding and backing up. Two great wickets in the game one from Seve and the other from Amaan helped to keep Wolverhampton’s score down to 247. James and Marley got the batting off to a good start, both scoring boundaries and putting 19 on the board. Seve and Reuben came in next and kept the score moving forwards with more boundaries, but an unfortunate miscommunication resulted in a stumping and a loss of 5 runs. At the half way point the scores were level. Roshan came in with great positivity, always looking for a quick run, ably backed up by Amaan they put on more runs but also lost another wicket. The last pair Saif and Zain, showed greater partnership and good communication, Saif scored the team’s only six. He picked off his shots well with Zain’s good running enabled the team to surpass the required total to finish on a score of 269. A great team effort well done boys!
