U9 Girls Red team v Solihull
This was the girls’ first match of the season which was played as a pairs match. They won the toss and elected to field first. The girls got off to a good start with some really tight bowling from both Hannah and Amal. Good concentration in the field, sound backing up and good communication coupled with straight bowling limited Solihull to 8 runs off the first two overs. Haniya and Amaya bowled next, good line and length from both of the girls to ensure no runs were given away cheaply. A Further 5 runs only were added to the total. Anna, Vithi and Yasmine followed suit with some great bowling with Anna getting the first wicket and Yasmine putting in an excellent delivery to catch. After 8 overs Solihull had scored 30 runs. Millie pitched in with another wicket and Amaya caught smartly from an Amber delivery. With two overs left Solihull had 37 runs.
During the batting innings the girls continued to dominate. Good running from Amal and Hannah gave the team 11 runs. Amaya and Haniya were exceptional – good communication between them saw their two overs add 30 runs – Haniaya scoring five boundaries and a six! The girls continued to move forwards in this positive vein. Vithi and Millie chipped in with boundaries, great communication from Vithi and Anna ensured the runs continued to flow. A few wickets fell, but Hallfield were never in danger of losing this match. A great first game and a super win – final score 118 to Hallfield 71 to Solihull.
Girls under 9’s cricket VS Solihull Green team
The girls played a game of quick cricket against Solihull. Hallfield played really well, with some great hits and runs. There were some fast runs from Heather, Hania R and Lynn. Some great long-distance hits from Elyssa, Ava, and Midian. Brilliant under arm bowling from Abeeha, Hannah L and Shaanvie. And great fielding from Luiza, Apti, Evelyn, Roop and Alivia. The girls enjoyed the fast-paced game, allowing them to all try new positions.
Player of the game, Abeeha. Well done!
