World Book Day

Happy Friday everyone! We hope you have had a good week and looking forward to some exciting plans for the weekend.

March 7th was World Book Day, we certainly had a very colourful day throughout filled with activities around the school from top to bottom along with a very eclectic range of costumes from both pupils and teachers! The day started off with an assembly from Miss Dicks with both pupils and parents both in attendance to watch a great interactive performance from our Year 6’s.

Later in the day, workshops were held by authors Tonya Meers and Natasha Dennis allowing Year 1 classes to create stories and scenarios with their own character Pojo! After these, reading sessions from both Natasha and Tonya were thoroughly enjoyed by our foundation classes as well as a meet and greet after school to allow parents and children to take pictures and get signed books!

As well as this, reading sessions were held throughout the day in our library and English rooms for our Prep pupils, everyone huddled around and listened to a story chosen by our readers ranging from our librarian Mrs Cooke and even our own Head Master Mr Morrow!

The day was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone and we would like to say a huge thank you to the parents and children who took part to make this day feel very special! Also a big thank you to our staff who all took part and our special guests Tonya and Natasha. We can’t wait to see what the children dress up as next year and who knows maybe next time Mr Morrow will dress up too!
