The UK Chess Challenge is the biggest chess tournament in Europe with tens of thousands of children aged from 5 – 18 entering the first round in the spring term. After 3 gruelling rounds less than 200 children remain to fight it out in the final which is being held in The Midlands this weekend, two of which are from Hallfield School – Manvith Sandhu and Farhaan Pasha.
Manvith has now moved on to King Edwards School but is still representing Hallfield at this event and should do very well in the final. Farhaan is one of our up and coming chess stars and this is his greatest achievement so far. He will be up against the very best children of his age in the country and we are certain he will aquit himself well and do us all proud.
Good luck and well done to them both!
