Due to the national lockdown which was announced by the Prime Minister on 4th January, we have postponed our whole school Open Morning on 30th January. The new date will be Saturday 20th March 2021.
Other date changes include:
Year 7 Scholarship Assessments – Friday 5th March
Year 3 Taster Day – Friday 5th March
7+ Entrance Assessment to Year 3 – Friday 12th March
New for 2021 is the inclusion of the Year 9 Destinations Fair at the Open Morning on 20th March; come and meet the most prestigious senior schools from the Midlands area and explore the life-changing educational opportunities that are available to your child at 13+. Schools in attendance include Rugby, RGS Worcester, Malvern St James Girls School, Wrekin College, St George’s, and Shrewsbury High. Each school exhibiting will be available to answer a wide range of questions covering entry requirements, scholarships and bursaries, day and boarding facilities and much, much more.
With Hallfield recently expanding its educational offering into Years 7 and 8, the Destinations Fair will give parents the chance to discuss this unique opportunity for their child before moving to Year 9. We are now Birmingham’s only co-educational Prep School up to 13 years. Traditionally, pupils entered Public Schools as boarders or day pupils in Year 9. Whilst Hallfield will continue to offer a pathway at 11+ to local independent and selective grammar schools, we know that starting a new senior school at the end of Year 6 is not the right choice for everyone. Many parents feel that at the age of 11 years, their child is not ready to either commute a longer distance or board. Equally, some pupils need more time to mature and develop in a familiar, more secure environment that a Prep school such as Hallfield can offer.
In line with government advice, we are ‘Covid-safe’ to welcome prospective families into Hallfield and showcase our offering as Birmingham’s leading Prep School. Providing an all-round education for children from age 3 months to 13 years old, we are looking forward to welcoming you to our 20-acre site, via an appointment booking system.
If you would like to join us on Saturday 20th March, please contact our Admissions Manager who will book your tour time and meeting with relevant members of staff and representatives of visiting partner schools. You can reach Alison Gilmartin either by email: email@example.com or by telephone: 0121 454 1496.
In the meantime, if you would like to take a look at our ‘virtual tour’ you can find it in the Admissions section of our website here or our fabulous new video can be watched here. We also have an excellent review from The Good Schools Guide.
