Fresh Face Friday: February 8th

We are back ladies and gentleman! Hope you are all very excited it’s Friday, I know I am! It’s time for another new edition of Fresh Face Friday! We have another member of staff ready to face the gauntlet and this week it’s our lovely secretary (and my lunch buddy) Rachel, lets see what she has to say!

Name: Rachel Sperring

Job Title: Pre-Prep Secretary

Date Started: January 3rd

How are you finding Hallfield?

I am settling into life at Hallfield very well, the children, staff and parents are all lovely. I have been made to feel very welcome!

What made you choose Hallfield?

I always wanted to work within a school, but never quite found a role within other schools that suited my skill set like this one. I get to support two very busy Deputy Heads and various other tasks.

What is your favourite part of the job/school?

I love the fact that every day is different and I never know what I’ll be doing next, in terms of supporting the Pre-Prep Deputy Head and the Prep Deputy Head. I also love the interaction with the children and listening to them as I walk around the school.

What were you like in school?

I would like to say I was quiet, shy and generally a good girl. However I was the complete opposite! I wasn’t extremely troublesome but I often became distracted, which lead to me being unable to concentrate and complete pieces of work. I think my teachers seen I had potential but often told my mother I was easily lead.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I have a 2 year old little girl and I love nothing more than spending quality time with her and my husband. I love nothing more than having days out with them even if it’s a trip to the park followed by a coffee and a cake after!

What are you most proud of?

Oh this is easy, my little girl! I am one very proud mommy.

Cats or Dogs?

Dogs! I like how loyal and protecting they can be. Cats seem to be too independent for me and I wouldn’t need to walk a cat which means I have even more of a reason to not venture out on cold miserable days.

Where is your dream holiday destination?

I have many places I would still like to go and visit (when my little girl gets older) but I think if I could go anywhere I would like to go to the Maldives. I like the idea of being able to relax on a white sandy beach in the middle of almost nowhere.

If you could have one superpower what would it be?

I think I’d like to be able to fly! I hate sitting in any form of traffic and having the ability to fly would mean I get to leave the house a little later, stay in bed a little later, get home earlier and have a wonderful bird’s eye view of the world below me.

What kind of music do you like?

I like a wide variety of music and listen to several different radio stations whilst in the car. I know I dislike rock and heavy metal, that’s a little loud for me and doesn’t really sound like music to me.

Do you have a secret talent?

I don’t think I have no, well I’ve not discovered one as of yet, but if I do I’ll let you know!

And there we have it! Thank you very much Rachel for stepping up to the challenge today, come back next week to see who’s up next!
