Fundraising for charity is not only a fun opportunity to host and take part in exciting events – but a great chance to learn about a range of social and personal issues and develop both understanding and empathy for others and the world around us.

At Hallfield, we plan and support a variety of charities, both local and national, throughout the School year. Selected charities include Edward’s Trust, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, Marie Curie, Red Nose Day (Comic Relief) and Barnardo’s to name but a few.

Activities have included skipping for the British Heart Foundation, kite flying for the Edward’s Trust, and a teddy bear-themed assembly in honour of Children in Need. Staff, too, frequently undertake fundraising activities which the school and our pupil support. Even the little ones at Hallfieldfirst have had a sponsored toddle to raise funds for Barnardo’s!

Charities are selected by the School councils, all under the supervision of Mrs Woodward (Pre-Prep School) and Mrs Checketts (Prep School). Raising money for charity is about developing the community awareness of our children, and – of course! – doing good at the same time.

We are proud of our huge successes and the thousands of pounds Hallfield children have raised for great causes – and look forward to raising more in the years to come!
