Transition Class

Transition is for those joining us in the academic year in which they are two. Open in term time, the school day runs from 8.30 a.m. to 3 p.m. with extended and flexible care from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. to cater for busy parents. We also run activity fun clubs in the Easter and Summer holidays.

After an initial settling in period when all the children play together, your child will join one of the five Kindergarten groups: Ladybirds, Honeybees, Butterflies, Caterpillars and Grasshoppers. We have a high staff to pupil ratio meaning that your child receives as much TLC and personal attention as is needed. We want your son or daughter to be happy and feel secure with us; we will liaise closely with you on a daily basis to ensure that everything is proceeding to your satisfaction.

Your son or daughter’s day will be structured in such a way that his or her imagination is stimulated and physical, social and cognitive skills are developed. We will also encourage your child to develop the initial learning skills in literacy and numeracy which will form the basis of his or her future education. An understanding of the world is introduced through topics and creative activities, and our learning programme encompasses music, dance, physical education and computer skills via the inter-active white-board. Your child will enjoy fresh air in their own enclosed, outdoor play area which includes a large sandpit, age-specific climbing apparatus, wheeled toys and lots of lovely purpose-build imaginative play areas, such as the supermarket.

We accept nursery grants and vouchers in Kindergarten.
