Hallfield, founded in 1879, is a happy
and thriving day Preparatory School for 460 boys and girls aged between
2 and 11 years. Situated less than 2 miles from the centre of Birmingham,
it occupies a 20 acre site in the pleasant area of Edgbaston.
At the age of 11 the majority of our pupils successfully gain places
at local selective maintained Grammar Schools or Independent Schools
– and a few move onto boarding schools. The School’s fine
academic record includes an impressive list of scholarship successes.

Central to Hallfield is the well-being
and welfare of our boys and girls. To this end we ensure small classes,
a wide range of educational opportunities – embracing the academic,
musical, artistic, dramatic, sporting and cultural fields –
and excellent pastoral care from our dedicated staff.
Learning is supported by outstanding facilities in all areas of the
curriculum.
Our children realise their potential through a determination to work
hard. We expect them to, but they do so in an encouraging and friendly
environment and we are proud of the feeling of warmth, care and enthusiasm
generated by our staff and the children themselves. Hallfield feels
like a school where children will be happy and successful –
they'll certainly be strongly encouraged towards these goals.
We firmly believe that it is of fundamental importance to find the
right school for each child. Printed information can be of some help
but nothing can replace a visit to see a school for yourself. We hope
that you'll accept this invitation to visit Hallfield – we look
forward to meeting you.
