Under 9s victory at Prestfelde
There is always a strong field at the 6 a-side tournament at Prestfelde, a tournament that Hallfield has never won before. Ten teams took part and in our group of 5 Hallfield won all 4 matches scoring 18 goals and conceding 0, Daniel Black being a prolific scorer!
In the semi - finals we played King’s Chester, a large footballing school and 4 times previous winners. It was a very tough game and we went 1-0 down. We equalised and the score was 1 all at full time with no goals scored in extra time. Penalties! We won the game with two good penalties from Lewis Smith and Abbas Mirza and great goalkeeping by Rohit Suglani.
In the final we played Packwood Haugh and Lewis (still only a Year 3 pupil) scored twice. Packwood scored but with heroic defence from Freddie Edge and Ikhlaas Ahmed, we won the match 2-1.
Captain Ben Hale, unofficial player of the tournament, collected the trophy from the Mr Mark Groome, Headmaster of Prestfelde.
